Help Laurens County First Steps Round Up Their Pigs During Squealin’ on the Square
September 24, 2024Get ready, Laurens County! The Laurens County First Steps pigs are set to make a playful breakout during Squealin’ on the Square on October 4-5. These little piggies will be scattered around Laurens Square, and we need your help to bring them back!
Each pig will have a special collar with instructions for the lucky finders. When you return the lost pig to the Laurens County First Steps booth during Squealin’ on the Square, you’ll be rewarded with a children’s book, generously donated by the Toys for Tots Literacy Program.
If you can’t make it to the booth during the event, no worries! You can safely return the pig to the Laurens County First Steps office at 1029 West Main Street, Monday–Thursday from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., and you will still receive a children’s book as a thank-you gift. Let’s work together to make sure these piggies go “wee wee wee” all the way back home and not to the market!
About Laurens County First Steps
Laurens County First Steps is a local nonprofit dedicated to ensuring that all children enter school ready to achieve their full potential. We collaborate with families, caregivers, and community partners to provide high-quality, evidence-based programs and services that support early childhood development from before birth through age five. We also serve as a connector and convener of early childhood stakeholders in Laurens County.
About the Toys for Tots Literacy Program
Established in 2008, the Toys for Tots Literacy Program is a year-round initiative aimed at giving economically disadvantaged children access to books and educational resources that foster academic success. By providing the tools for literacy, the program helps break the cycle of poverty, ensuring that children have the opportunity to build a foundation of communication skills that are crucial for learning, interacting with others, and future career success.
