Ernie Whiteford Announces Candidacy for PRTC Board of Directors – Area 1, Seat 3
October 25, 2024Laurens County native and longtime small business owner, Ernie Whiteford, has announced his candidacy for a position on the PRTC Board of Directors. Born and raised in the community, Whiteford is known as a dedicated husband, father, and owner of Whitefords of Laurens, a popular local restaurant.
Whiteford has spent his life serving the people of Laurens County and understands the challenges of competing against large chain companies—both as a small business owner and now in his bid to serve on the PRTC Board. “PRTC is a local business that, like mine, faces competition from larger outside companies. As a small business owner, I appreciate that I can interact directly with people in my own community. I believe PRTC’s customers deserve the same local connection, and I want to be that voice for them,” said Whiteford.
Whiteford brings with him years of business experience, skill, and the determination to advocate for the people of Laurens County. “I have the experience, skill, and ambition to be the voice of the people in this important election, and I look forward to serving both PRTC and its customers,” he added.
The election for the PRTC Board will be conducted as a “Drive-Thru” election, making it convenient for voters. Ballots will be mailed out during the last week of October, and voters are encouraged to bring their ballot and a photo ID to the Laurens County Library, located at 1017 West Main Street, to cast their vote on Saturday, November 9.
As an incentive to participate, PRTC is offering a $25 gift card to all voters who take part in the election. Whiteford expressed his gratitude for the community’s support, saying, “I very much appreciate your vote on November 9 for the PRTC Board of Directors. Thank you for your support!”
