40th Annual Carolina-Clemson Blood Drive kicks off Monday

November 18, 2024

A week before the two rivals meet on the football field, the two fanbases–including students, faculty, staff and community members–compete in something much more important: saving lives.

The annual blood drive competition between the two schools begins today (Nov. 18) and will run through Friday (Nov. 22).

The blood drive helps the Red Cross collect blood at a time when donations typically slow down. Last year, the two schools combined to donate 7,000 pints of blood and save 20,000 lives.

Locations include:

  • Russell House University Union (1400 Greene St.) produces the highest traffic for student and staff donations.
  • Other locations include Capstone, Campus Village, Greene Street and more.

How to donate: You can schedule an appointment at the Blood Battle’s website. Walk-ins are also available across campus.
