Advanced Technology International’s American Metalcasting Consortium Program Wins Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Commander’s Choice Award

Award presented at DLA Business Alliance Awards Conference in Columbus, Ohio

CHARLESTON, SC – SEPTEMBER 14, 2010 – Advanced Technology International(ATI), an affiliate of SCRA, announced today that its AmericanMetalcasting Consortium  – Casting for Improved Readiness “ProcurementSolutions Network for Cast Parts” project was presented with a DLACommander’s Choice Award. The award was presented at the 2010 DLABusiness Alliance Awards conference in Columbus, Ohio last month.

Ryan Moore of the Non-Ferrous Founders Society and PrincipalInvestigator for the project accepted the award on behalf of ATI and theAmerican Metalcasting Consortium from DLA Director Navy Vice AdmiralAlan Thompson. The Commander’s Choice Award is presented to a non-DLAindividual whose dedication and commitment to the agency’s missionaffects quality of life for US service members.

The American Metalcasting Consortium’s Casting for Improved Readinessprogram is sponsored by DLA Research & Development to develop andapply new technologies and processes for the design, procurement, andmanufacture of cast spare parts to enable rapid support of cast parts toDLA customers.

The Procurement Solutions Network for Cast Parts connects Department ofDefense parts acquisition needs to the metalcasting industry. Mr. Moorehas been integral to the creation, expansion and enhancement of thetools that comprise this web-based Network. This ATI-led collaborativeproject has significantly improved supply chains, reduced costs anddelivery times, and increased readiness and sustainability forwarfighter support.
