COLUMBIA, SC – Columbia Metropolitan Airport (CAE) is announcing Anthony Gilmer as the airport’s new Air Service and Marketing Manager.

Gilmer brings unparalleled experience to the role, having spent over a decade in the aviation industry. Most recently, he served as Director of Marketing at The Quotient Group, an aviation marketing & strategy agency, where he helped multiple airports from across the country develop and execute effective strategies for marketing, social media and stakeholder engagement.

Prior to joining the Quotient Group, Gilmer worked at Yeager Airport (CRW) in Charleston, WV where he began as an intern and worked his way up through the organization, ultimately serving as the airport’s Marketing & Air Service Development Coordinator for the final five years of his tenure.

Throughout the course of his career, Gilmer has held various positions within an airport environment and has working knowledge of all aspects of the aviation industry ranging from local airline operations to facilities to marketing and air service development. He has been a highly sought after speaker at industry events across the United States and has presented on an array of topics including communications strategies for irregular operations and crises, creative approaches to community engagement, and managing airport/airline relationships.
Gilmer has a Business Administration degree from the University of Charleston, in Charleston, WV and has an unparalleled passion for aviation. He strives to have a positive impact on the communities he serves and on the industry as a whole. Of his new role in Columbia, he says that he is excited to bring his experience to the Columbia Metropolitan Airport.

“Columbia is a great place and CAE has already done a lot to establish itself as one of the most well respected small-hub airports in the industry, so now is a really exciting time to be joining the airport team,” says Gilmer. “I’m looking forward to being able to build on the airport’s successes and helping the airport reach new goals, especially when it comes to air service.”

Airport Director, Dan Mann, echoes that sentiment. “Anthony is going to bring new energy and a fresh perspective to the job, and that is something that is going to help take us to the next level, says Mann. With all of the changes and growth that we’ve experienced over the past four of five years, now is the perfect time to refocus our energy on strengthening our relationships with airlines and making sure that we’re telling our story to the industry just as much as we’ve been telling it to the community.
