American Eagle Airlines Launches Nonstop Jet Service Between Charleston, S.C., and Miami International Airport

Second Daily Nonstop to Begin in April 2010

FORT WORTH, TX – November 19, 2009 – American Eagle Airlines, the regional affiliate of American Airlines, today began nonstop jet service between Charleston International Airport (CHS) and Miami International Airport (MIA), operating the service with 50-seat Embraer ERJ-145 jets.

We’re delighted to introduce this service to Charleston, offering our customers convenient connections through Miami to destinations throughout Florida, the Caribbean, the Bahamas and Latin America, said Francisco Porras, American Eagle Regional Sales Manager. With the significant military presence in the Charleston area, this will provide even greater access for visitors to and from the Charleston Air Force Base, the Naval Weapons Station Charleston, as well as The Citadel Military College.

American Eagle also announced a second daily nonstop flight from Charleston to Miami, beginning on April 6, 2010.

This new route opens the door for all sorts of opportunities for us with new markets in Latin America. We have needed direct service to South Florida for a long time!

We are excited about the new nonstop flight that American Eagle is adding today to Miami International Airport, said David G. Jennings, Chairman of the Charleston County Aviation Authority. This new flight will benefit leisure and business travelers. Access to this international hub will make it more convenient for passengers to travel to and from South Florida and the Caribbean, as well as Central and South America, and Mexico.
