American Heart Association to kick off 2021 Lowcountry Heart Walk Campaign

October 5, 2020

The American Heart Association will officially kickoff the 2021 Lowcountry Heart Walk Campaign virtually on October 7th at 12PM via Zoom. The kickoff will showcase the opportunities to support the cause and recognize the local companies and individuals already committed to sponsoring and raising funds for the 2021 campaign.

“The 2020 Lowcountry Heart Walk became the first million-dollar walk in South Carolina, and we’re looking forward to keeping the momentum going,” said Dan Battista, LOWE’s Southeast Regional Leader and 2021 Lowcountry Heart Walk Campaign Chairman. “The LOWE and Wild Dunes team is excited to repeat history and raise $1 million again. I encourage all businesses, large and small, to get involved. Start a team, register to walk – no act of support is too small.”

The need to raise funds and educate our community through the Heart Walk has never been more important. COVID-19 has the potential to drastically change the health and well-being of people living in the U.S. for many years unless we work together to reduce the impact.

“The Lowcountry Heart Walk is essential in helping fund innovative research, fight for stronger public health policies and provide lifesaving tools and information to prevent and treat heart disease in our community,” said Katie Schumacher, the American Heart Association’s Executive Director in Charleston.
