Announcing the 18th annual Healthy Learners Champions for Children Golf Tournament in memory of George Younginer

October 4, 2017

Healthy Learners proudly announces the 18th annual Healthy Learners Champions for Children Golf Tournament in Memory of George Younginer.  It will be held on Wednesday, October 25, 2017, at Fort Jackson Golf Club in Columbia, SC.  Registration begins at 10:00 a.m. followed by a 12:00 Noon shotgun start.  The day will conclude with dinner and entertainment, announcement of winners and the awarding of prizes.

Healthy Learners is a faith-based non-profit that connects children to care so that poor health is not an obstacle to doing well in school.  The organization addresses poverty at its root, so that future generations can lift themselves, and their communities, to a better life.

Team sponsorships, which include 4 golfers, start at $1,500.  A variety of sponsorship opportunities remain.  The tournament is All-inclusive – Complimentary food and beverages served throughout the day, a variety of contests and exciting prizes, a great round of competitive golf, opportunities to bid on Silent Auction items and a Hole in One contest, sponsored by Dick Smith Nissan of Columbia.  All sponsorships include Recognition in The State Newspaper “Thank

You” Ad, as well as the company name included in Tournament marketing materials and Healthy Learners website.

The donations and proceeds from Healthy Learners’ largest event of the year will benefit the children served by Healthy Learners in the state of South Carolina.  “Our greatest accomplishment over the past 25 years is the positive impact made in the lives of the children we have served,” said Jo Pauling-Jones, executive director, Healthy Learners.  “In 25 years, Healthy Learners has provided nearly 59,000 vision, dental, medications and other health-related services to 12,644 individual students across South Carolina on its mission for healthy children, better students and thriving communities.”

Join this year’s Premier Exclusive sponsor for the fifth consecutive year, Colonial Life, and tournament Co-Chairs, Monte Lee, Clemson Head Base Ball Coach and Matt Younginer, National Account Manager, Husqvarna and Healthy Learners Fund Development Committee member, to celebrate this event during a milestone year.  This is a great opportunity to help support an organization that continues to provide health care services for children who are in need and without resources.  Healthy Learners partners with schools and community health care providers to not only help children secure needed health care services, but also to provide transportation and coordination of care for medical appointments.

You can also support the event by volunteering or simply making a donation in any amount.  For registration and general tournament information please contact Aundrea’ Simons by telephone at 803.454.0350, Ext. 3, via email at [email protected], or visit the Healthy Learners website at healthylearners.com.  Please consider joining Healthy Learners for this year’s 18th annual golf tournament.
