BASF makes $9,500 donation to Converse Fire Department

BASF’s site in Converse, South Carolina has donated $9,500 to the Converse Fire Department for training equipment that will help the department improve readiness among its firefighters.

The donation will cover the Intelligent Training System Base Unit, 7×7 Smart Extinguisher, and transport case for the equipment. The system will allow firefighters with the Converse Fire Department to train in various locations and stage different situations to diversify training opportunities so firefighters are prepared to handle any real fire situation.

“Converse Fire Department would like to thank BASF (Converse) and their staff for the donation of $9,500 We look forward to the continued partnership with BASF for fire safety education throughout the community. This much-needed donation will purchase a fire extinguisher prop which will educate our firefighters, local business partners and the citizens of the community on the proper way of using an extinguisher in an emergency situation,” said Converse Fire Department Chief Chris Weathersbee.
