BJUgrass Brings the House Down at Music in the Garden Event
June 28, 2021Verdin’s Too, the host of a series of free music concerts set in their open-air nursery, took things to a new level with the latest event.
Friday, June 25th was a perfect night for an outdoor concert. Typical June weather, hot and muggy but comfortable as the sun was going down and the concert started. BJUgrass, a group of talented musicians (four students and Bob Jones University President Dr. Pettit), took the stage to a packed house and played for an hour and fifteen minutes.
The playlist varied and included traditional bluegrass, original compositions of the group, gospel hymns and patriotic songs. There was truly something for everyone. For more information about BJUgrass click here.
The group ended with a special rendition of America the Beautiful and the National Anthem that brought everyone to their feet to join them in song.
“We enjoy opening the garden to the community for these musical events,” said owner Kim Verdin. “It’s great to see so many people come out for a free night of music.”
A beautiful venue, perfect weather and inspiring music.
