Blincow to Head IADC Committee

CHARLESTON, SC – May 11, 2010 – John K. Blincow, Jr. has beenappointed to chair the International Association of Defense Counsel’sMedical Defense and Health Law Committee. IADC is an invitation-onlyprofessional association for corporate and insurance defense lawyersaround the world. Members are dedicated to the highest standards ofprofessionalism, service, upholding the rule of law and integrity of thecourt system.
The Medical Defense and Health Law Committee serves all members whorepresent physicians, hospitals, and other healthcare providers andentities in medical malpractice actions, health law advisory andregulatory support such as in defense of Qui Tam actions, federal fraudand abuse claim evaluation and defense, peer review/quality improvementcounseling, and licensure board appearances. The Committee also hasmembers that are leaders in the defense of nursing home industryclients. Members publish monthly newsletters and Journal articles andpresent educational seminars for the IADC membership at large. Membersregularly present committee meeting seminars on matters of currentinterest, which includes open discussion and input from members at themeeting. Members share and exchange information regarding experts, newplaintiff theories, discovery issues and strategy at meetings and vianewsletters and e-mail. Upcoming Committee goals include development ofmodules for publication that address complex practice area subjectmatters such as arbitration clauses in the nursing home industry anddamages evaluation in complex injury cases.
