Blue Bell Ice Cream to return to the Carolinas this fall

July 20, 2016

Blue Bell Creameries announced it will be expanding its distribution area in North Carolina and South Carolina in September. Beginning on Sept. 12, products will be available in all of South Carolina and the central part of North Carolina. The following week Blue Bell will return to Raleigh and the surrounding areas. (Cities listed below.)

“At this time we believe that we are in a great position to expand distribution in the Carolinas,” said Ricky Dickson, vice president of sales and marketing for Blue Bell. “Our goal is to continue to return to markets and reopen our distribution facilities as we are properly positioned to do so.”

Blue Bell will reopen its distribution facilities located in Charlotte, N.C., Columbia, S.C., and Raleigh, N.C. “We have started hiring personnel and will continue to add more as needed over the next few months,” Dickson said.

In January, Blue Bell returned to a small section of the Carolinas, prompting fans in other areas to make the drive across the states to stock up on their favorite ice cream. “Currently our products are only available in cities located in the western portion of North Carolina and South Carolina,” Dickson said. “We have heard from fans in both states that have been driving for hours to find Blue Bell. We’re excited that Blue Bell will be available in select grocery stores in these areas very soon.”
