Bo Knapp Wins Papa John’s 2014 Franchise of the Year
April 21, 2015GREENVILLE, SC – Bo Knapp, owner of 19 Upstate Papa John’s Pizza restaurants, was recently named the 2014 Papa John’s Pizza Franchise of the Year during the company’s annual operators conference in Orlando, Fla.
Selection for the highly competitive award is based on exemplifying Papa John’s commitment to providing customers with superior-quality pizza, world-class customer service and outstanding community involvement. With over 4,000 locations worldwide, franchises are separated into four regions, with one nominee for Franchise of the Year from each region. Bo Knapp’s franchise was honored with a $20,000 cash reward and a crystal trophy replica of a Papa John’s restaurant.
Knapp opened his first Papa John’s restaurant in 1992 off East North Street in Greenville, S.C. He has since grown his franchise to over 700 employees at 19 Papa John’s Pizza locations throughout Upstate South Carolina and Western North Carolina. Knapp credits his restaurants’ success to community involvement. His franchise focuses primarily on fundraising for a variety of education projects, and sponsoring the Papa John’s Mutt Strut, an annual run/walk with dogs and their owners benefitting the Greenville Humane Society. With 2,000 participants last summer, it raised over $80,000 for the Humane Society.
“I’m very proud of being recognized as Papa John’s Franchise of the Year,” said Knapp. “With over 3,200 Papa John’s locations in the U.S. alone, being recognized as the top franchise is a true honor. No business would be successful without the support of their team. We have a great team of people who love their community and are very involved with it. This is the key to our success, so we feel lucky to be able to give back in the ways we do.”
