Brainstorm budding businesses with Richland Library’s new EiR

February 4, 2020

Taking the leap into business ownership can be an intimidating endeavor. Richland Library wants you to be prepared for all the rewards and challenges that go along with making that decision. We’re excited to connect the community with our new entrepreneur-in-residence (EiR), Kimico Myers.

With more than 25 years of business experience and a Masters of Business Administration from UofSC’s Darla Moore School of Business, he has a resume working with a number of organizations that range from 10 to 300,000+ employees.

Currently, Myers is Owner/President of TeamLogic IT – Columbia. The franchise is part of the nation’s leading provider of computer support and IT services for small and medium-sized businesses. He also is Vice Chair of the Midlands Chapter of the Service Core of Retired Executives (SCORE), which has a mission of mentoring entrepreneurs and supporting budding start-ups.

During his residency, which runs through May 2020, Myers plans to host weekly office hours at our Main location (1431 Assembly Street), answering questions and sharing his expertise. To secure a one-on-one appointment, please visit richlandlibrary.com.

In addition, he plans to attend 1 Million Cups’ weekly meet-ups and coordinate free, public programs with library staff. There’s a chance to interact with Myers on his first day during a meet-and-greet, which is set for 6 – 8 p.m., Wednesday, February 5 at our Main location.

Awarded a $50,000 grant in 2018 as part of the Google Impact Challenge, Richland Library created an approach to remove barriers and level the playing field for diverse entrepreneurs. One element of that approach, the entrepreneur-in-residence, strives to offer access to seasoned, diverse entrepreneurial leaders with proven expertise, demonstrated success and the heart of a coach.
