Bryan Hudson Named South Carolina Captive Insurance Association’s 2014 Captive Person of the Year

COLUMBIA, SC – The South Carolina Captive Insurance Association (“SCCIA”) awarded their highest honor of Captive Person of the Year to Mr. Bryan Hudson on Tuesday, September 23rd during its 15th Annual Executive Educational Conference. The Captive Person of the Year award recognizes an individual for their outstanding leadership and accomplishments on behalf of the association and captive insurance industry in South Carolina.

Bryan Hudson is a shareholder at Bauknight, Pietras & Stormer, P.A. He has served clients in the captive insurance industry since South Carolina’s Captive Insurance Legislation was signed into law by then Governor Jim Hodges in 2000. Over the past fifteen years, Bryan has worked tirelessly to promote South Carolina as a captive insurance domicile of choice, most notably through his role on SCCIA’s Conference Committee, which he chaired for the second consecutive year in 2014.

SCCIA President, Chris Stormer described Bryan as “a tireless worker to make sure that the conference agenda is the best it can be.” When asked about Bryan’s accomplishments, Mr. Stormer stated that Bryan was, “…instrumental in taking conference to the next level over the past two years, bringing industry leaders from across the country to speak at the Annual Conference.”

In addition to his involvement in the SCCIA, Bryan serves on the International Center for Captive Insurance Education (“ICCIE”) Board of Directors and on the North Carolina Captive Insurance Association’s Education Committee.

Bryan is a native of Summerville, South Carolina. He is married and has two children.
