If you can dream it, you can do it

Walt Disney dreamed big and took bold actions.
He left a legacy of movies and theme parks.
His greatest legacy is the company he left.
It’s still creating dreams and fun for all.
His philosophy was crystal clear:
“If you can dream it, you can do it.”

Dreaming is easy. Achieving dreams is the test.
Staying motivated is a challenge for many of us.
Long-term goals seem far off and difficult to reach.
Or we can drag our feet and wait until tomorrow.
For procrastinators, tomorrow rarely comes.
MaryEllen Tribby advises us to take baby steps.
Break big goals down into less risky baby steps.
Keep in mind the short-term benefits along the way.

Have you wanted to write a book? Lose weight?
Dreamed about other personal or business goals?
Then hurdles stopped you in your tracks. You quit.
What if you found a benefit in taking each step?
Wouldn’t that help keep you going?
Imagine the feeling of crossing the finish line.

Concentrating on your baby step benefits will:
• Help you visualize why you are working so hard.
For example, working out may exhaust you.
But your stress drops and your spirit rises.
You feel cleansed, energized, stronger and happy.
• Give you a great sense of accomplishment.
You feel good about eating healthy and exercising.
But you must give up unhealthy snacks and work out.
Don’t aim to lose 50 lbs. Aim to lose 1 lb. a week.
That can be measured. Weigh yourself once a week.
• End guilty feelings and give you confidence.
Imagine you want to cut personal or business costs.
Forget how much you want to reduce in a year.
Concentrate on bottom lines changes each week.
Baby steps help you stay motivated.
