Carnival Night! Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Columbia gears up for annual fundraiser, Bowl for Kids’ Sake – March 30

January 29, 2018

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Columbia is getting ready for Bowl for Kids’ Sake, and this year’s theme is “Carnival Night!”. Bowl for Kids’ Sake is Big Brothers Big Sisters largest annual fundraiser and raises over $20 million nationally. Bowl for Kids’ Sake will be held on Friday, March 30th from 6:00-9:30 p.m. at Anchor Lanes in Irmo.  Bowlers can form teams and have fun while helping to raise money for the children and families in Richland and Lexington counties. We are encouraging everyone to come out and make this a community event. The event will feature a catered meal, a themed photo booth, glow in the dark bowling, face painting, an arcade, bowling pin painting, dessert and much more! Also, every team participant will receive a “Carnival Night” t-shirt to commemorate the event.

“We’re switching things up a bit this year and are proud to invite the community to join us for Bowl for Kids’ Sake, “Carnival Night!” We’ve shortened the event to just over three hours so that everyone can celebrate together and enjoy the festivities at Anchor Lanes. The Big Brothers Big Sisters mission is one that serves as a powerful conduit of change by connecting children facing adversity with volunteer mentors. The outcome is life-changing and impacts not only the child, but also the child’s family, school, and community. We’d like our mission to translate even more profoundly into our largest annual fundraiser by creating an opportunity for the local community to spend time with the BBBSGC staff, Board of Directors, Bigs and Littles, and learn how to be a conduit of change through BBBSGC programming,” said Amanda Nemenz, President and CEO of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Columbia.

All money raised by Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Columbia will be directly supporting children and families in the Richland and Lexington counties, so put this event on your calendar and form or join a team! Remember that the smallest donation can make the biggest difference in a child’s life.
