Carolina Children’s Home offering 2023 scholarships and grants
January 4, 2023Carolina Children’s Home (CCH), a nonprofit which provides financial services and advocacy to children’s initiatives in South Carolina, is pleased to announce it is accepting applications for 2023 scholarships and grants. Midlands residents and nonprofit organizations in the Midlands region are encouraged to apply for financial support. The deadline to submit applications is February 28, 2023.
“Carolina Children’s Home is excited to enter our sixth year of giving away grants to deserving Midlands non-profits as well as scholarships to students pursuing careers in children’s causes,” said Stephen Creech, CCH Board of Directors Chairman. “We are happy to continue our mission of meeting the underserved mental and physical health needs of the most vulnerable among us.”
CCH offers scholarships and grants once a year to help improve the quality of life within our communities. Over the last five years, CCH has given out more than $1 million. Last year alone, CCH awarded $90,000 in scholarships to students in the Midlands area and $200,000 in grants to nonprofits located around the Midlands. 18 students received $5,000 each to use toward their education. Seven nonprofit organizations received grants up to $25,000.
Scholarships are subject to a few requirements. Interested applicants must be residents of the Midlands, accepted or enrolled at a college or university (in-state or out-of-state) pursuant of a degree in social work, psychology, medicine, nursing or counseling.
Organizations interested in grants should be located in and support residents of Midlands counties. Grantees should be community partners whose mission supports either the physical and mental health needs of children, fostering character development and social opportunities for underprivileged children, building strong family structures and parental involvement, or supporting children’s education.
