Cayce’s Summer Garbage Pick-Up

CAYCE, SC – April 13, 2009 – The City of Cayce would like to notify its citizens of the upcoming garbage pick-up schedule. Starting June 1, 2009, garbage services will run twice weekly. The twice weekly pick-up will take place through Friday, August 28.
Garbage services return to once per week beginning August 31.
Cayce City Council decided on this measure because summer is when students return to households during the day and the three months are the city’s hottest. Costs were cut by starting the twice weekly trash collection later in the year and ending it earlier, focusing on the most needed months in the year for garbage services.
“We really appreciate our citizens understanding that in these economic times, it saves money and reduces wear and tear on city vehicles to offer twice weekly service only during the most critical months. It is a solution that helps cuts costs without doing away with vital city utilities,” said Mayor Elise Partin.
Citizens with pick-up days on Monday or Thursday will have collection on both of those days and citizens with pick-up days on Tuesday or Friday will have collection on both of those days. Citizens can still request special garbage pick-up by calling Cayce’s Director of Sanitation at 803.796.9020, ext. 3044.
