Chappell, Smith & Arden Announces New Partners

COLUMBIA, SC  – Chappell, Smith & Arden announced that three attorneys have become Partners, effective January 1, 2014— W. Beau Busch; C. Daniel Vega and W. Hugh McAngus, Jr. They will be joining the founders, Mark D. Chappell, a personal injury litigation attorney and William L. Smith, II and Mark T. Arden, both workers’ comp attorneys, in the Columbia-based firm, which was founded more than two decades ago.

W. Beau Busch, C. Daniel Vega and W. Hugh McAngus, Jr.

W. Beau Busch concentrates his practice in workers’ compensation securing justice for injured workers. Beau graduated from The Citadel and the University of South Carolina School of Law. He was admitted to the South Carolina Bar in 2002. Busch has been with the firm since 2003.

Chappell, Smith & Arden’s multilingual lawyer, C. Daniel Vega, is uniquely equipped to assist South Carolina’S Hispanic-Latino population. His key practice area is workers’ compensation. Vega graduated from the Citadel and Regent University School of Law. In 2003, he was admitted to the South Carolina Bar and has been with the firm for more than 10 years.

W. Hugh McAngus, Jr., a personal injury attorney, focuses on various areas of law for the firm, including litigation for motor vehicle accidents, trucking accidents and product liability. He is a graduate of The University of South Carolina and The University of South Carolina School of Law. He was admitted to practice in South Carolina in 2006 and to the U.S. District Court, District of South Carolina in 2007. McAngus was admitted to practice in North Carolina that same year and in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of North Carolina in 2012. He has been with the firm since 2006.
