HILTON HEAD ISLAND, SC – August 27, 2010 – New York Times bestselling author Mark Victor Hansen, known for the wildly successful Chicken Soup for the Soul series, will be interviewing Jack & Robin Firestone, co-authors of the Amazon.com bestseller Chasing Diana, in a free live teleseminar, on the 13th anniversary of the fatal car crash of August 31st, 1997, which killed Lady Diana and Dodi Al Fayed in Paris. This free call is open to the public, and it will take place at 4:00 PM EDT this Tuesday, August 31st. Go to www.chasingdiana.com/promo to register.
Jack and Robin Firestone are the only Americans who witnessed the immediate aftermath of the crash, and they’ve been quite vocal about their experiences in dealing with French and English authorities, the paparazzi, conspiracy theory, the media, and each other. In December 2007, the Firestones were called upon to give live testimony in London at the Royal Courts of Justice for the Coroner’s Inquests into the Deaths of Diana, Princess of Wales and Mr. Dodi Al Fayed. It was the culmination of a decade’s long journey for them, in their quest to formally go on record as to what they witnessed in the Alma Tunnel in Paris that night.
The day following the closing of the inquest, Jack and Robin had a heartfelt private meeting in London with Dodi’s father, Mohammed Al Fayed, who has pointed the finger of guilt directly at HRH, Prince Philip, husband to Queen Elizabeth II.
In Chasing Diana, as the Firestones’ story unfolds, they share their personal journey in this captivating and controversial book. Utilizing a guise of historical fiction, they are more able to express the overwhelming effects resulting from being placed at a crossroads in history. An average American family, the Firestones were vacationing in Paris back in 1997 when fate intervened, turning their lives upside down. Upon their return home from Europe, they were inundated by the press and their lives were forever changed.
As Robin Firestone has said, You never want to believe it was anything more than an accident, but the more we saw, we could not help but believe that there was something deeper going on here; the inquest, the verdict, the book, it’s all closure for us. Now, we’ll just let the readers decide.
