City of Charleston Department of Recreation Awarded Grant

CHARLESTON, SC – August 2010 – The City of Charleston Department of Recreation was awarded a grant of $1,000 for equipment by The Carolina Panthers and Fisher Athletic this past Monday, August 16th.
Ten grants of $1,000 for the purchase of equipment, for a total of $10,000, were awarded to youth football programs in North and South Carolina. With nearly 2,400 youth football and cheerleading participants in the City of Charleston, the grant provides additional necessary equipment to a youth sports program which sees an increase in participation year after year.
City of Charleston Fall youth sports include baseball, softball, football, cheerleading, soccer, cross country and middle school volleyball. Games begin September 11th.
