Coldwell Banker United, REALTORS® celebrate a special 30th anniversary -The Hood Team – united in business and life

COLUMBIA, SC — Coldwell Banker United, REALTORS’®s, Danny and Karen Hood, of The Hood Team, top-producing independent sales associates at the Irmo/Lake Murray office, attended Coldwell Banker NRT LLC’s recent Celebration of Success at the Four Seasons Resort Palm Beach in Palm Beach, Florida. The couple is also celebrating their own success, as they have been working together as Realtors® at the same office for 30 years. Together, The Hood Team has sold approximately 2,500 homes, and was honored as the #1 Coldwell Banker Affiliate Team in South Carolina for four consecutive years (2008-2011).
This romantic tale began with a real estate career information night back in 1985, when Karen decided, while on maternity leave, to quit her middle school teaching position, while Danny was also leaving a pharmaceutical sales career. While Karen never made it to the information session that night, the serendipitous strangers each earned a real estate license, took a leap of faith into a new career field and landed at Tom Jenkins Realty, which became Coldwell Banker Tom Jenkins Realty a year later.
However, they were not destined to meet immediately, as Karen went into early labor while showing a home to clients with son, William, who was literally “born into real estate.” Karen returned to the office several months later.
Over time, their lives changed, and eventually Danny and Karen merged their real estate careers and families, each bringing a son to their marriage. Their son, William, initially worked as a paramedic before later affiliating with The Hood Team as a Realtor®. His wife, Jessie, is the team’s closing coordinator, and their other son’s wife, Courtney, is the business coordinator. To top it all off, William was out showing homes when Jessie went into labor. Danny offered to finish the showing appointment with his buyers, as Danny rushed home for the birth of his second daughter Arianna. To say this real estate team and family lives, works and plays together is an understatement!
