Colliers International brings new Danny McBride show, “Vice Principals”, to North Charleston warehouse

CHARLESTON, SC – Colliers International’s Hagood Morrison, MBA, SIOR has brokered a lease at 4500 Goer Drive, an industrial warehouse in North Charleston. The tenant, Danger Boys Productions, LLC, is a television production company that intends to use the 150,000 square feet that they have leased to film a Danny McBride series, “Vice Principals”, which has begun pre-production and is set to air on HBO in 2016. The 18-part miniseries follows the adventures of a group of vice principals at a high school.
Morrison represented the landlord and the tenant in the lease. He explained that the Danger Boys lease is part of an overall trend of production companies using less conventionally desirable industrial space in the Charleston area for filming and production.
“Since South Carolina passed incentives for production companies in 2013, there’s been more interest from studios in filming here,” said Morrison. “And warehouses like 4500 Goer Drive, which struggle to compete with some of the more modern and advanced properties near the Port, are proving to be the perfect spaces for these production companies.”
