Colliers International | South Carolina announces 2017 company awards

Colliers International | South Carolina and its partner company, LCK, announced company award winners for 2017. Every year, the statewide commercial real estate firm recognizes associates and employees who go above and beyond in their professional and community endeavors. This year’s awards include the Transaction of the Year, the Community Service Award and the Management Services Award.
“2017 was a great year for our company due to the accomplishments of our associates and staff,” said John W. Folsom, President and CEO of Colliers South Carolina. “We love to highlight our team members who have gone above and beyond in 2017 and acknowledge all of the Colliers and LCK staff who contributed to another successful year.”
The 2017 Transaction of the Year award was presented to Garrett Scott and Brockton Hall, who are among the brokerage team in Colliers’ Greenville office. Garrett and Brockton were successful in assisting a client in complicated transaction to acquire a site for industrial use. The owner being unwilling to subdivide the site and there was lack of available sewer service at the site. In order to facilitate the transaction, the Colliers team coordinated discussions with the county for Special Source Revenue credits as well as utility extensions from nearby municipalities which previously weren’t available and negotiated incentives to offset infrastructure cost. These actions created a new development opportunity that had never previously in the Greenville market. This transaction, located on property near the Inland Port, helped the client break ground on their first building which will be the largest speculative building built in the Greenville-Spartanburg market. The assemblage is the largest in the SC-101 submarket since the development of the site for BMW many years ago.
Community is one of Colliers’ six Core Values, and thus, the Community Service award is an important recognition of a Colliers or LCK staff member who has given of their time, resources and energy to worthy causes in their community. This year’s winner, Philip Vann, has done that and more, serving as a role model and tutor for children through the United Way’s Midlands Reading Consortium. He also serves on the Board of Directors of Youth Corps and is a Class Agent, Alumni Volunteer and Advisory Council member for Woodberry Forest School.
The Colliers Management Services Award is presented annually to an individual who demonstrates expertise and professionalism in the real estate management or project management divisions of the company. This year’s recipient, Scott Rush, clearly exceeded the expectations of clients and fellow associates. In 2017, Scott relocated to Greenville to lead Colliers’ project management service division. He has tirelessly strived to build a professional platform in the upstate while managing the details of project management for Colliers’ clients. Scott’s loyalty to Colliers’ valued clients and commitment to excellence have been outstanding.
