Colliers | South Carolina announces 2022 Managing Directors

Charleston/Columbia/Greenville/Spartanburg, SC – Colliers | South Carolina announced that John Montgomery, Chuck Salley, Garrett Scott and Craig Waites have been named Managing Directors.

Montgomery joined Colliers’ Spartanburg office in 2018 with an extensive background in master-planned communities, retail, residential, commercial and industrial development projects. Specializing in industrial brokerage, he guides clients through the development process from land acquisition and development through lease-up. He is a graduate of the Liberty Fellowship Program and the National Outdoor Leadership School and he has served on the Board of Trustees for Converse College, the Board of Directors for Glenn Springs Academy, Boys and Girls Clubs of the Upstate, SAFE Homes Rape Crisis Coalition, Spartanburg Community College Foundation and the University of South Carolina Upstate Foundation Board. He is a member of the Church of the Advent and is the current Chairman of the Commission of Public Works for the City of Spartanburg as well as a commission for Spartanburg Sanitary Sewer District. He graduated from the University of the South and holds a Master of Real Estate Development degree from Columbia University.

Salley joined Colliers’ Columbia office in 1981 and has 41 years of experience in all aspects of industrial brokerage including leasing, sales, build-to-suit, site acquisition, investment sales and consulting. He holds the Society of Industrial and Office REALTORS® designation and is past President of the Carolinas Chapter. He led the team that earned SIOR’s worldwide 2020 Top Industrial and Investment Transaction Awards. He is a Life Member of the Central Carolina REALTORS® Association Circle of Excellence, a member of the South Carolina Economic Developers Association and the Central SC Alliance Committee of 100. He is a former chair of the Palmetto Health Children’s Hospital Board, former board member of the Congaree Land Trust and recently completed serving a three-year term on the City of Columbia Board of Zoning Appeals as Chair. Salley graduated from the University of South Carolina.

Scott joined Colliers’ Greenville office in 2014 and helped open the firm’s Spartanburg office in 2018 to address the booming real estate market in the area. After 27 years with a local industrial development firm, he transitioned to brokerage services, focusing on leasing, sales and development advisory services for industrial properties throughout the Greenville-Spartanburg market and the Southeast. He has been involved in the planning, acquisition and implementation of more than 31 industrial parks and 38 million square feet of industrial space in key manufacturing and distribution markets. In 2018, he obtained the professional designation of SIOR (Society of Industrial and Office REALTORS®). Scott is an active member of both the Colliers Logistics & Transportation Group and Colliers’ Automotive Desk. He is a current board member of The Piedmont Club and former board member of Clemson University’s Board of Visitors and The Humanities Council. He is also a member of the South Carolina Economic Developers’ Association and Spartanburg Association of REALTORS® and is a graduate of Clemson University.

Waites joined Colliers’ Columbia office in 1995, specializing in site selection, land brokerage and the sale of retail/owner-occupied properties. His expertise lies in land valuation, planning and the entitlement process in order to enhance value for land owners. He has extensive experience in zoning efforts, permitting, consultation and predevelopment issues associated with area municipalities and the South Carolina Department of Transportation. He is a Life Member of Central Carolina REALTORS® Association’s Commercial Circle of Excellence and a 1998 graduate of Leadership Columbia. Waites served on the City of Columbia Planning Commission, the United Way of the Midlands and is a past Chairman of the Sisters of Charity Foundation of South Carolina. He graduated from Washington and Lee University.
