Columbia electrical engineering firm’s reputation grows

GWA, Inc. was presented an Engineering Excellence Award at the ACEC-SC annual Engineering Excellence Awards ceremony held at the Columbia Museum of Art on February 2 for the Devro Manufacturing Facility Expansion.  Devro, Inc. is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of collagen casings. Headquartered in Scotland, Devro has sales offices in Germany, Russia, Hong Kong, Japan and New Zealand, and manufacturing and technical plans in Australia, the Czech Republic, and South Carolina.

Engineering Excellence is an annual competition recognizing engineering achievements which demonstrate the highest degree of merit and ingenuity. The American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) is the voice of America’s engineering industry. Council members – numbering more than 5,000 firms representing more than 500,000 employees throughout the United States – are engaged in engineering works that propel the nation’s economy, and enhance and safeguard America’s qualify of life.
