Columbia Nephrology Associates announces expansion into Sumter

COLUMBIA, SC – Columbia Nephrology Associates is expanding its services to Sumter this summer.  The Midlands’ leading kidney specialists, Columbia Nephrology currently has offices in Columbia, Lugoff and Newberry.

“We recognize the growing need for care across the Midlands”, says Greg Catt, CEO of Columbia Nephrology.  “We’re very excited about the opportunity to offer Sumter residents the same care they’ve come to expect at our Columbia office, but closer to home”.

Catt says the practice is finalizing plans for the office and will provide more details soon.

According to the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control (DHEC), one in eight South Carolinians has Chronic Kidney Disease, or CKD.  South Carolina also ranks fifth in the country for patients on dialysis.  Those at the highest risk of developing kidney disease are people with diabetes, high blood pressure and those over 60 years old.
