Columbia Urban League Young Professionals to host virtual At-large City Council panel at Sunrise Artisan Bath and Body
September 29, 2021The Columbia Urban League Young Professionals (CULYPSC), will host a City Council At-large virtual forum, in partnership with “Sunrise Artisan Bath and Body” on Thursday, September 30, 2021, at 6:00 p.m.
The virtual forum will host seven candidates, Tyler Bailey, Heather Bauer, Dr. Aditi Bussells, John Crangle, Deitra Stover Matthews, Aaron Smalls, and Jonathan Tyler, to discuss current community concerns and issues. The conversation will be moderated by CULYPSC President Ms. Elána R. Frazier and Advocacy & Civic Engagement Committee Member, David Olds. The At-large race has the largest pool of candidates in any current local election.
“The Heart of South Carolina is filled with great talent and involved community members,” said Merrell Johnson, panel organizer, and Culture & Social Committee Chair. “I’m excited and thrilled to hear what the candidates have to say concerning issues we, as a community, have sought solutions for the past decade.

Virtual audience members will be able to submit questions to the candidates that will be read by the moderators.
“If you want to impact the future of your community, your Columbia, you must tune in with what’s happening locally. Local elections matter, period.” said, CULYPSC President Ms. Elána R. Frazier.
Residents are encouraged to tune in and participate. The election will take place on November 2, 2021, and runoff elections, if necessary, will take place on November 16, 2021.
