Construct a Business Plan with Richland Library’s Next Entrepreneur-in-Residence

August 2, 2019

What does it take to run a women-owned small business? Let a licensed general contractor and construction manager from the Midlands guide you through the process. Richland Library is excited to welcome Lasenta Lewis-Ellis as our next entrepreneur-in-residence.

A graduate of Midlands Technical College, the University of South Carolina, and Webster University, Lewis-Ellis is the President and CEO of LLE Construction Group, LLC. She specializes in owner’s representation in general construction and contracting, construction and project management, and facility support services. Currently, she’s working on her dissertation with a focus of study on women-owned small businesses and federal government contracting.

Lewis-Ellis is scheduled to host weekly office hours at our Main location (1431 Assembly Street), answering questions and sharing her knowledge about business and self-employment. To secure a one-on-one appointment, please visit richlandlibrary.com.

In addition, she plans to attend 1 Million Cups’ weekly meet-ups and coordinate free, public programs with library staff. There’s a chance to interact with Lewis-Ellis on her first day during a meet-and-greet, which is set for 6 – 8 p.m., Wednesday, August 7 at our Main location.

Her residency runs through the end of November 2019.

Awarded a $50,000 grant in 2018 as part of the Google Impact Challenge, Richland Library created an approach to remove barriers and level the playing field for diverse entrepreneurs. One element of that approach, the entrepreneur-in-residence, strives to offer access to seasoned, diverse entrepreneurial leaders with proven expertise, demonstrated success and the heart of a coach.
