David Campbell honored for outstanding philanthropy support in the region

Chernoff Newman President and COO, David Campbell, was honored at the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) Central Carolina Chapter’s National Philanthropy Day as the 2017 Outstanding Marketing Professional in Support of Philanthropy award winner. Campbell was nominated through his devoted board service for the United Way of the Midlands, Historic Columbia and the Richland County Public Library.
“David is a true leader, both inside and outside our firm,” said Lee Bussell, Chernoff Newman chairman and CEO. “He reflects our culture of innovation and collaboration in everything he does. He is making a genuine difference in the communities we serve.”
National Philanthropy Day celebrates exceptional individuals and organizations throughout the Midlands dedicated to philanthropy. The luncheon, on Thursday, October 26, honored the award winners and scholarship recipients.
“David is a servant leader,” said Joey Wallace, United Way of the Midlands VP of Marketing & Communications and AFP board member, “He’s a donor, a volunteer, an advocate and a champion for United Way as well as many other worthy causes.”
Deeply invested in the community, David currently serves on the United Way of the Midlands, Historic Columbia and Richland County Public Library Board of Directors, in addition to leadership positions with the College of Charleston School of Communications, American Advertising Federation (AAF) of the Midlands, the National Kidney Foundation of South Carolina, the South Carolina Department of Consumer Affairs, and Claflin University among many other volunteer positions.
