Diane Salane receives the 2015 Colliers International Community Service Award
March 1, 2016Diane Salane was awarded the 2015 Colliers International Community Service Award. This award was established in 2011 to recognize Colliers’ staff for extraordinary commitment and involvement in community, industry and civic activities in the markets Colliers serves across South Carolina.
Salane has dedicated two years of her time to Ready, Willing and Able at Transitions Homeless Shelter. The shelter hosts a twelve week program that prepares women who are homeless to transition from the street to a self-sufficient life through teaching interview skills, basic work skills, budgeting skills and more.
In addition, Salane has served as a volunteer for Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, the Columbia Blues Festival, United Way of the Midlands, and Lee National Denim Day. In 2011, she served on the Festival of Trees Committee and served as chair of the committee in 2012. She’s also has conducted workshops for SCISA, South Carolina Department of Social Services, and South Carolina Department of Mental Health. She currently serves on the Board of South Carolina Youth Advocate Program, (SCYAP) an organization that places children in therapeutic foster care.
As part of the Community Services Award, Colliers International South Carolina donates $500 to the charity of the winner’s choice. Salane has chosen to donate $200 to Transitions Homeless Shelter, $200 to SCYAP and $100 to Casting for Recovery – Wyoming.
