District 5 Foundation names 2 new Board Members

The District 5 Foundation is excited to announce that Michelle Fabrizio and Lollie Haselden have joined the Board of
Directors. Both Michelle and Lollie bring with them a deep commitment to the community and a passion for supporting the children of District 5.
“I have found that we often underestimate the power of even the smallest act of giving, which can have the potential to turn a life around,” Michelle Fabrizio.
Michelle Fabrizio was first introduced to the work of the District 5 Foundation when the Chapin Elementary School PTO donated 10% of their fundraiser profits to the Snack Pack Program. As a mother of three young children, Michelle is acutely aware of the needs within the district. She shares, “I have found that we often underestimate the power of even the smallest act of giving, which can have the potential to turn a life around.”
Michelle’s passion for advocacy is deeply rooted in her upbringing, inspired by her mother’s own commitment to service. “Being a part of the District 5 Foundation allows me to follow in her footsteps. I am truly honored and look forward to working with this foundation and District 5 families.”
In addition to her work with the Chapin Elementary School PTO, Michelle Fabrizio is a Customer Service Representative at Hireright.
Lollie Haselden, who moved to Irmo with her husband and two children in 2019, is a familiar face at Dutch Fork Middle and Oak Pointe Elementary Schools. In her professional role at the South Carolina Conference of the United Methodist Church, Lollie continues to serve the broader community.
Initially struck by the affluence in her new community, Lollie soon discovered the underlying needs that exist. “My heart has always been for those who don’t have enough. The District 5 Foundation’s work is so enough. The District 5 Foundation’s work is so impactful because they meet needs for which there are no budget lines. By filling those gaps, the Foundation enhances the lives of students and the broader community.”

Education is a passion for Lollie, stemming from her background as a public school teacher, making her a natural fit for the Foundation. She is eager to help share the story of the District 5 Foundation and the impactful work it accomplishes.
The District 5 Foundation raises funds to tackle important issues such with our community. We are one of the 18 partner organizations supporting the district’s Snack Pack Program seeking to address food insecurity in our most vulnerable students. We provide resources to fund our educator’s innovative ideas and educational experiences. Additionally, the District 5 Foundation funds research and development for District 5 students, many of whom have gone on to win district, regional, and international accolades. Lastly, the District 5 Foundation provides emergency resources when district families experience catastrophic events such as fire and flood.
Board Chairman Scott Jones states, “Michelle and Lollie are exceptional individuals who truly care about the well- being and future of our children.”
