District Five announces new principal for the Academy for Success

IRMO, SC – District Five announces Dr. Terrance Alridge as the incoming principal of the District Five, Academy for Success.   Alridge replaces Mr. Don Hardie, who has accepted the position as Principal of Saluda Middle School in Saluda County.  Mr. Hardie served as principal of the Academy of Success for six years.

Alridge earned his Bachelor of Art in History from the University of South Carolina. He later earned a Masters in Educational Administration and a Doctor of Philosophy from USC. When asked about his new role, Alridge said, “I am extremely excited about the opportunity to serve as the Principal of the Academy for Success. It is my goal to create a shared vision for students, staff and community members. I look forward to working with all the stakeholders over the next few weeks as we prepare for the 2016-17 school year.”

District Superintendent, Dr. Stephen Hefner said, “We will certainly miss Mr. Hardie. He has done an excellent job at the Academy for Success and I am grateful for his years of excellent work and dedication. We wish him well in his new position. We are looking forward to having Dr. Alridge assume this important new role. He brings a wealth of skills, knowledge, experience, dedication and compassion to the Academy for Success.”
