Dominion Energy Carolina Gas prepared to respond to Hurricane Irma

September 8, 2017

Dominion Energy Carolina Gas (DECG) is closely tracking the path of Hurricane Irma and preparing to respond to impacts from the storm. Hurricane Irma could cause flooding, high winds, falling trees and widespread damage.

DECG began preparing earlier this week: making storm staffing plans, staging equipment and increasing the supplies needed for repairs. As DECG prepares for what the storm may bring, we urge the public to do the same.

Safety is Dominion Energy first priority. Once the storm passes, DECG plans to access facilities by helicopter and rights of way. DECG crews will need to access remote areas of the state and will be traveling across South Carolina highways, interstates and local roads.
