Dorchester County Council approves $2.27 million for storm debris removal

On Monday, July 8, 2024, Dorchester County Council approved the allocation of $2,277,471 for the removal of debris from County easements affected by the storm on June 10th. This effort will cover approximately 21 miles of drainage easements and will ensure the effective functioning of stormwater drainage systems, thereby reducing the risk of flooding and other storm-related issues.

The communities below are designated for easement debris removal, which will proceed in the following order:

  1. Irongate
  2. Quail Arbor
  3. Briarwood
  4. Quail Arbor 5
  5. Greenhurst

The cleanup will begin on July 12th and is scheduled to take several weeks to complete.
