Dorchester County recognized with two prestigious awards for Excellence in Financial Reporting and Procurement

Dorchester County is proud to announce that it has received two distinguished awards that highlight its commitment to excellence in government operations.

The Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) has awarded Dorchester County the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting for its annual comprehensive financial report for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2023. This award, the highest form of recognition in governmental accounting and financial reporting, is a testament to the County’s dedication to transparency and effective communication of its financial practices.

In addition, Dorchester County is honored to receive the 2024 Annual Achievement of Excellence in Procurement® (AEP) Award from the National Procurement Institute, Inc. (NPI). This prestigious award recognizes the County’s dedication to procurement excellence through innovation, professionalism, and leadership. Dorchester County is one of 198 recipients across North America, selected from among cities, counties, school districts, and other organizations.
