Elliott Davis Decosimo admits four new shareholders

GREENVILLE, SC – Elliott Davis Decosimo is pleased to announce they have admitted four new shareholders into the firm, effective September 1, 2015.

As shareholders they will all help as we continue to develop our people to provide excellent service to our clients.”

Howard Houston specializes in audits, reviews and compilations for construction, higher education, real estate companies and not-for-profit entities. Houston is based in the firm’s Greenville, S.C. office. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the South Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants and serves on the board of directors for the Greenville Literacy Association. Houston holds a bachelor of science in business administration with a concentration in accounting from Lander University.

Melissa Johnson is based in the firm’s Charleston, S.C. office. She specializes in litigation support for commercial and family law disputes as well as business valuation services. Her services include preparation of economic damage calculations and business valuations related to estates and gifts, shareholder disputes and the family courts. Johnson is a certified public accountant, a certified valuation analyst and a master analyst in financial forensics. She holds a master of accountancy from the College of Charleston.

Jerry D. Lewis is based in the firm’s Greenville, S.C. office. Lewis leads the firm’s Tax Methods and Credit Services Practice, providing strategic solutions to taxpayers in an effort to increase current and future cash flows. Lewis is a member of the American Society of Cost Segregation Professionals, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and is a cost segregation professional. He holds his bachelor of arts in economics and business from Randolph-Macon College.

Jay Brietz is based in the firm’s Charlotte, N.C. office. Brietz has more than 20 years of experience in finance and accounting. Brietz leads the firm’s SSAE 16 – Service Organization Controls Reporting practice. He provides assurance and consulting services to financial institutions and third-party processing organizations, including internal audits, risk management, information technology and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance. He is a certified public accountant and a certified internal auditor, a board member of the North Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants Charlotte Chapter and holds a leadership certification from the Mortgage Bankers Association. Brietz holds a masters in accounting from Appalachian State University.
