Jerry Bellune, Owner, The Lexington Chronicle

We he doubled the number of subscribers on his paper route at age 11, Jerry Bellune knew that he had entrepreneurship was in his genes.  In 1982, when The Philadelphia Bulletin went belly up, Jerry and his wife returned to their native South Carolina.  When they launched The Lexington Chronicle in 1992, nobody gave them much of a chance.  Their competitors said they wouldn’t last six months. This year they are celebrating their 25th anniversary.
