Post 56 and Geraldine’s Soup Kitchen Vietnam Veterans Day Breakfast

March 29 @ 7:00 am - 10:00 am

The American Legion Copeland-Davidson Post 56 is partnering with Geraldine’s Soup Kitchen to host a Biscuits and Gravy Breakfast in honor of Vietnam Veterans Day, a national holiday recognizing those who served during the Vietnam War. The event will take place on Saturday, March 29, from 7:00 to 10:00 AM at Geraldine’s Soup Kitchen, located at 209 E. Main St. in Clinton.

All Vietnam Veterans, Vietnam Era Veterans, Veterans of all wars and all theaters, as well as the residents and staff of Geraldine’s Kitchen–Open Door Christian Center and the general public are warmly invited. Donations will be accepted at the door, and while the food lasts, no one will go away hungry.

Attendees are encouraged to show their pride in service—whether it’s wearing a field jacket, P-coat, Legion uniform, rider’s vest, a “DD 214” t-shirt, or simply a veteran ball cap.

“This is as far away as the white tablecloth crowd as we can be,” said one Post 56 organizer. “We are coming together to quietly remember those who never came home and to honor and celebrate those who went and survived.”

The event offers a meaningful way for the community to recognize and connect with veterans in a relaxed and welcoming setting, anchored by fellowship, food, and gratitude.
