Fatz Southern Kitchen served 4,000 free meals to veterans July 4th

Chain’s 43 locations thanked military with $30,000 of Southern cuisine
Fatz Southern Kitchen celebrated the 4th of July with sincerity last week, thanking more than 4,000 active military members and veterans with their signature World Famous Calabash Chicken on the house.
Fatz, known for its Southern hospitality and cuisine, served more than 20,000 free Calabash Chicken tenders to veterans this Independence Day. In its 43 locations across the Southeast, more than 20,000 guests (that’s more than 1,000 gallons of Fatz Famous Sweet Tea!) were served overall.
“We can’t quantify our gratitude for the sacrifices our veterans have made,” said Zac Painter, vice president of marketing. “Knowing Fatz has given over 4,000 of them a hot, Southern meal on us is an incredible way to start, though.”
Military service members and veterans enjoyed a complimentary plate of five Calabash chicken tenders, Vidalia onion coleslaw and French fries – and the chain’s sincerest appreciation, said CEO Jim Mazany.
“Fatz Southern Kitchens were built to bring friends and families together,” said Mazany. “There’s no better reason than to say ‘thank you’ to our service men and women, and we’re delighted to have been able to do so in our own way this 4th of July. We hope our veterans feel even a fraction of our admiration for all they’ve done.”
