Flood Recovery Assistance: cleanup buckets and community support available

In the aftermath of the recent flooding caused by Tropical Storm Debby, Dorchester County will be distributing flood cleanup buckets, August 13, 2024. These supplies were generously donated by The Salvation Army of Charleston.
Distribution Locations and Times:
- Givhans Fire Station 12: 1475 Hwy. 61, Ridgeville, SC 29472
Time: 3:00 PM – 7:00 PM or until supplies last - Grover Fire Station 15: 3336 Wire Road, St. George, SC 29477
Time: 3:00 PM – 7:00 PM or until supplies last - Indian Field Fire Station 24: 1525 W. Main Street, Harleyville, SC 29448
Time: 3:00 PM – 7:00 PM or until supplies last
What’s Included:
These buckets are filled with essential cleaning supplies and other necessary tools to help with safe and effective flood cleanup. Buckets will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis, and are limited to one per family.

Proper cleanup is crucial to prevent health hazards like mold and mildew after flooding. These buckets help to provide the necessary tools to ensure your home is cleaned safely.
Community Outreach Staff On-Site:
To further support our residents, Dorchester County Community Outreach staff will be available at each distribution site to answer any storm-related questions you may have.
Dorchester County is grateful for the continued support from The Salvation Army of Charleston and all those who are helping our community recover.
* The County will hold a second Clean Up Bucket Distribution and Community Outreach program in the Ashborough area once flooding has receded.
