Food Truck Monday in Clinton a Big Success

March 7, 2022

Clinton’s new Main Street Clinton Manager recently announced the launch of Food Truck Monday.

Judging from the crowds that came out on Monday, March 7th, it was a big hit with the community.

“I am very pleased with the turn out for our first Food Truck Monday,” said Joe Timmons, Clinton Mainstreet Manager.  “You never know how your first event will go, but today was a great success.”

The event was held in downtown Clinton in the West Main Street parking lot from 5-8 pm and there were five food vendors including:

House of Pizza, https://www.facebook.com/houseofpizzaclinton/

Yum Bai SC, https://www.facebook.com/yumbaisc/

Crabtrappin, https://www.facebook.com/crabtrappin/

Smokn Thangz BBQ, https://www.facebook.com/smoknthangzbbq/

Pound 4 Pound Sweet Treats, https://www.facebook.com/p4psweettreats/

The event drew a crowd estimated to be 500 plus and several of the food trucks ran out of food.  “We brought people into downtown and even when the rain hit people were staying,” said Timmons. “A few downtown merchants said they don’t usually stay open on Monday but people were waiting for the food trucks to start and they went shopping.  So over all I think this was a success.”

When asked about future events like this, Timmons said he plans to reach out to the vendors and assess the event, but he feels like there are more Food Truck Mondays in Clinton’s future.
