Furay recognized with national Soaring Eagle Award for the second time

April 7, 2016

GREER, SC – The National Association of Health Underwriters (NAHU) has awarded Guy Furay with the Soaring Eagle Award.

This is the second year in a row that Furay, who is the owner of The Insurance Source, has earned the award. Roughly 250 people receive the award annually, putting him in elite company.

The Soaring Eagle Award is the highest honor given by the National Association of Health Underwriters. This prestigious recognition is awarded to members who have achieved the greatest success in demonstrating exceptional professional knowledge and outstanding client service.

Furay began his insurance career in 1997 with BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina. He opened The Insurance Source, an independent brokerage specializing in health insurance in 2005. Furay earned the FLMI (Fellow, Life Management Institute) and GBA (Group Benefits Associate) designations. He also completed four of the eight graduate level courses to earn the CEBS (Certified Employee Benefit Specialist) designation at the Wharton School of Business of the University of Pennsylvania.

Since 2013, The Insurance Source has doubled sales volume by leveraging its team and putting people in position to do what they do best – keeping the focus on how they can best serve their customers. The company was recognized as a Greenville Chamber Small Business of the Month in 2015.

“Winning the Soaring Eagle once was a great honor,” Furay said. “I am truly humbled to earn it a second time.”
