Gaffney Lewis & Edwards partners with Fairfield County School District to collect uniform clothes for children of displaced SCE&G workers

August 14, 2017

The law firm of Gaffney Lewis & Edwards is working with Fairfield County School District administration to collect much needed school clothes for the children of displaced workers from the V.C. Summer nuclear plant.

“The need is great and the need is urgent,” said Amy Gaffney, partner in charge of the firm’s Charleston office. “We want to help these parents provide for their children as they start the new school year.”

The firm will collect the needed items until the end of the month but wish to have as much as possible by the end of this week to deliver to the school district before school starts on August 22nd.

All schools are requiring khaki pants and the list of colors for polo shirts can be found for each school below:

• Geiger Elementary – hunter green or yellow
• Kelly Miller Elementary – purple or white
• McCrorey Liston Elementary – black or orange
• Fairfield Elementary – red, royal blue or navy blue
• Fairfield Magnet School for Math & Science – powder blue (light blue)

Sizes for the elementary school children range from size 4T to size 16.  Sizes include 4T, 5, 6, 6x, 7, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16 in both boys and girls, with a few that may require 10-16 husky.  Local Wal-Marts and Target stores are suggested as economical places to purchase these much needed items.

The middle schools and high school do not require a uniform but contributions of clothing can be provided and labeled for these schools.

Donations can be dropped off at the firm’s Columbia Office at 3700 Forest Drive, Suite 400, or in Charleston at 125 A Wappoo Creek Drive, Suite 202.
