Graham Announces Over $10 Million for South Carolina Airports
July 14, 2010CHARLESTON COUNTY, SC – July 13, 2010 – U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham(R-South Carolina) today announced more than $10 million in grants toairports in Anderson, Charleston, Chesterfield, Darlington, Greenville,Horry, Laurens, Lexington, and Sumter counties.
Anderson
Anderson County will receive a $3,774,000 grant for an airfield pavementevaluation study, to design and construct apron rehabilitation, and todesign and construct taxiway rehabilitation at Anderson RegionalAirport.
Anderson County will also receive a $649,865 grant for runway andtaxiway lighting at Anderson Regional Airport.
Charleston
Charleston County Aviation Authority will receive a $388,248 grant toconstruct a terminal building, improve utilities, and design a runwayrehabilitation project at Mt. Pleasant Regional Airport.
Chesterfield
City of Pageland will receive a $150,000 grant to acquire over 50 acresof property for developing a terminal area for Pageland Airport.
Darlington
Darlington County will receive a $278,090 grant for rehabilitation ofthe apron and taxi lane pavement at Darlington County Airport.
Greenville-Spartanburg
The Greenville-Spartanburg Airport Commission will receive a $1,247,032grant for land acquisition to construct a highway overpass to providepassenger access on to Interstate 85 at Greenville-SpartanburgInternational Airport
The City of Greenville will receive a $442,510 grant for installation ofa retrofit to the top of the existing Engineered Materials ArrestingSystem bed at the Greenville Downtown Airport.
Greenwood
Greenwood County will receive a $187,345 grant for the construction offuel farm modifications at the Greenwood County Airport.
Horry
Horry County will receive a $3,027,059 grant for a terminal expansionproject at the Myrtle Beach International Airport.
Laurens
Laurens County will receive a $209,856 grant for the first phase of a 10unit hangar project at Laurens County Airport.
Lexington
Lexington County will receive a $257,177 grant for taxiway design andconstruction at Lexington County Airport.
Sumter
The City of Sumter will receive a $133,095 grant for the design phase ofa runway safety area improvement project at Sumter Airport.
The grants were awarded by the U.S. Department of Transportation.
