Greenville Technical College libraries to host foster care information session

May 15, 2017

Greenville Technical College’s Barton Campus Library will host an information session on foster care on Wednesday, May 17 from 1 to 2 p.m. The library is on the ground floor of building 102.

In the Upstate, 1,552 children are in foster care, with 437 of those children having special needs. An additional 729 homes are needed. The South Carolina Youth Advocate Program offers free training for foster parents, 24/7 support, crisis intervention, and competitive monthly stipends.

Greenville Technical College Libraries are active partners in supporting student success and teaching excellence. They accomplish this by delivering access to resources, teaching information literacy skills, supporting instructional technology, and providing services and programs. As a part of the college and larger community, the libraries host programs that support local services and agencies.  These special events enlighten Greenville Technical College students, faculty, and staff as well as members of the community about opportunities and resources in the Greater Greenville area.
