Haynsworth Sinkler Boyd welcomes new associates

Haynsworth Sinkler Boyd announced that Kaitlin T. Beck, Demetrius Pyburn and Clara Elizabeth “Lizzie” Weston have joined the firm.

Kaitlin Beck is based in our Columbia office and focuses her practice on a broad array of healthcare matters and general corporate law. Kaitlin received her Juris Doctor, cum laude, from the University of South Carolina School of Law where she served as Associate Editor in Chief for the South Carolina Law Review and was a representative to the South Carolina Bar Law Student Affiliate Division. She is also a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. Prior to law school, she served as Office Manager and Legislative Aide for United States Congressman Bill Johnson.

Demetrius Pyburn is in our Greenville office where he practices employment law and counsels clients on everyday compliance issues involving the ADA, FMLA, Title VII and other employment-related regulations. Prior to joining the firm, Demetrius served in the 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment in the U.S. Army. He continues to serve in the U.S. Army Reserves as a Human Resources Specialist in the 812th Transportation Headquarters. Demetrius received his Juris Doctor from the University of South Carolina School of Law and his B.A. from Platt College in Ontario, California. While at USC, Demetrius served as President of Service Members & Veterans in Law as well as Corresponding Secretary for the Black Law Student Association.

An associate in our Columbia office, Lizzie Weston focuses her practice on financial services litigation. She represents lenders and banks in connection with consumer and commercial loan disputes. Prior to joining the firm, Lizzie worked as an intern for the Honorable John W. Kittredge of the South Carolina Supreme Court as well as the Conservation Voters of South Carolina. Lizzie received her Juris Doctor, magna cum laude, from the University of South Carolina School of Law where she was a member of the Order of the Coif, Order of the Wig and Robe, Phi Delta Phi, Women in Law and the Environmental Law Society. Lizzie served as Associate Editor in Chief of the South Carolina Law Review. She received her B.A. from Washington and Lee University.
