Haynsworth Sinkler Boyd’s Cory Patterson selected to become Riley Diversity Fellow

February 13, 2018

Haynsworth Sinkler Boyd is pleased to share that Cory Patterson, a litigator in the Greenville office, has been selected to participate in the Riley Institute at Furman’s Diversity Leaders Initiative (DLI) this spring.

Cory is one of 42 leaders from across the Upstate chosen for this program. DLI class members are selected based on their capacity to impact their organizations and local community.

“Though we are a diverse population, discovering ways in which differences can be a strength in our organizations is of utmost importance as we seek to grow and support a thriving economy and rich culture,” said Dr. Donald Gordon, executive director of the Riley Institute.

DLI is a five month course where participants will learn about diversity and inclusion “blind spots” and how to suspend assumptions. Upon graduation, participants will join over 1,900 Riley Fellows statewide.

Licensed in Georgia, North Carolina and South Carolina, Cory Patterson’s practice focuses on utility, construction, financial services and insurance defense. An experienced litigator and trial attorney, Cory handles cases for a diverse group of Haynsworth Sinkler Boyd clients, in both federal and state courts. He received his Bachelors and Juris Doctor from North Carolina Central University.
