High Spirits Hospitality’s Johnson named one of Greenville’s most influential

January 31, 2018

Tammy Johnson, High Spirits Hospitality’s president and CEO, was honored as one of Greenville’s 50 Most Influential by Greenville Business Magazine Tuesday night.

A native of Houston, Johnson has been making an impact since moving to Greenville in 2009 to work as the marketing manager for a South Carolina-based restaurant group. She started her journey into entrepreneurship in January of 2011 when she opened Liquid Catering, a special event bartending company. The Old Cigar Warehouse followed in February of 2013, and she added Bravo1 Protection, a private security company, in 2015. She started High Spirits Hospitality in 2017 to oversee all of those companies along with High Spirits Events, which is an event company that puts on the annual Tacos & Tequila Fiesta.

Tammy is an active volunteer, serving as the volunteer Bar Manager for Euphoria where she also is a board member. She also serves on the board of the University Center as well as the City of Greenville’s Accommodations Tax Committee. She has been recognized as one of Greenville’s Best & Brightest under 35; was a 2013 finalist for Greenville Chamber’s Young Professional of the Year; and was a member of Leadership Greenville Class 39. In 2014 she was awarded Entrepreneur of the Year by Business Black Box Magazine and Young Entrepreneur of the Year by the South Carolina Small Business Administration.

“I am deeply honored and humbled by this award,” Johnson said. “There are so many great leaders in this community. To be named one of the most influential is amazing.”
